Thumps

My name is Thumps. And I like bunnys.
I usually don’t post stuff like but I thought I’d do it this time.
This rabbit’s name is Bailey.  I got to meet him on Saturday on the 29th of May.  Bailey has lived a hard life being born in a cage in his own urine and feces and basically not being able to move because he was stuff along with his 39 other siblings of which he is the only remaining survivor.  Bailey had recently lost his partner, Zsa Zsa, which I feel sad for as she was adopted along with her sister last month.  I was there for that adoption, I didn’t think I’d actually meet Bailey though and then later find out about all that.  Soon after the caregivers of the rabbits told me that he’s been very unstable again, attacking other rabbits and such.  I know that he was heart broken once again.
After spending a little of my day playing with Bailey who opened up to me, I had been saddened to hear that he was going to be put down as he couldn’t be dealt with anymore.  I cried that night a lot wishing I could have given him a home, but under my own circumstances it wouldn’t have been a good place for him to rehabilitate.  But Bailey’s suffering can finally be casted away, and himself finally at peace after a hard year alive only.
When thinking back on this, I feel angry towards people who use animals for their own gain to make a quick buck and have no remorse for the conditions that they live make them live in.  Puppy mills, rabbit mills, its all the same to me.  It makes me sad to think that there are people in this world that could be so evil honestly.
